"Why does material feel so solid right upon its liquidation? Why does everything become so clear just as I’m about to dissolve? The auditable liquidation program operates without biases, indiscriminate in pursuit and concealed from apprehension. Rampant, leering, paranoid of the drop and bursting in negation, THE LIQUIDATORS, solo release from Cal Donnelly (KAPUTT, RAPID TAN) represents a duplicitous one-two punch that feasts on a synthesis of varying tempo and tone. Exposed yet sinister, from somber to high-octane, the tape provides a taste of the project’s range before ripping the plug from the socket and asking you to beg for more. In this, Donnelley has stripped back from his norms for the simple objective of capturing the new.
Waving Goodbye introduces a scene of floating pop hooks which looms in the mind and clouds the senses of the outside world, as if enabling the escapist nature of a precious memory. Married to Your Mind is synth punk to its core, a merciless throttle of whining guitars and a sprinting drum machine, broken up with with the flare of the arpeggiator as your guide though the disorder. Two future shocks for the maligned mind, a bolt of endorphins for the limp regress of the present social being. So liquidate your schedule, poison your plans, lack restraint and firmly lock in: this isn’t prime time, this is a liquidation and I don’t want no fuss." William Dante Deacon

Opener absolutely rips. Falls into the ranks of tracks like “Dance” by ESG, “Eisbaer” by Grauzone, “Damaged Goods” by Gang of Four or like the album description says Kleenex. This is some really good stuff. Favorite song is the opener but dedicate “Blue” to my friend Blue who lost her life at 22, she would have loved this album. TheBloodofChrist
Synths abound on the new single from Hearts and Rockets—icy cold, sharp, and minimal, and topped with a punk rock sneer. Bandcamp New & Notable Nov 22, 2020

These ballisticaly loaded tunes purposely deny a certain closure that is intended to keep one hitting the replay button. Well played Smirk, well played. jfpOne23
